Laney and her best buddy!

I think she looks like a doll here.

"Are you talking to me?!?"
Well May is half way over, and I don't have too many pictures to share. I guess I have finally slowed down at the picture taking :)
Laney had her two month check up on May 6th. She is growing so much. She weighed 10 pounds 1.5 ounces and is 22 inches long. She only had to get one shot and she didn't do too bad. She cried for just a minute, and then calmed right down. It was much better than last time.
Facts about Laney... it is so amazing how much they grown and develop in 10 weeks:
- She is smiling all the time!
- She loves staring at people's faces
- She is always playing with her tongue and trying to to talk
- She does not like bath time. We have to be very quick and sing to her the whole time. She does however like her head being scrubbed. I think she gets this from her dad.
- Laney has a new best friend (pictures above). She holds on to this stuffed animal so tight, and she loves staring at it's face too.
- She is holding her head up so well. If you hold her belly and back she will sit right up and support her own head. I even put her in her Bumbo for just a few seconds and she can hold herself right up.
- People are always commenting at how alert she is.
- People are also always commenting on how long she is.
- She loves car rides, and always falls fast asleep.
- She is getting more hair finally :)
- She loves to make silly sounds.
- She is now grabbing things all the time, she loves grabbing mommy's hair and lips.
- She has recently begun disliking diaper changes, but only some times.
She is such a happy baby, and we just can't get enough of her!! I am picking up her two month pictures either today or tomorrow and I will post those soon.
Oh yes, I have to update you on my job. I was laid off on Monday, April 27th. I then began thinking I would either work only part time or be a stay at home mom. Well on Friday, May 8th my principal called me in for a meeting. Bethel offered me my job back, but I was hired at Frederickson Elementary. It is a brand new school that will be opening for the first time this fall. I was so excited when I saw where I was offered a job, because opening a school is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I was also sad, because I knew I would have to accept the job and work full time. That meant I would be leaving my baby and that is not what I had in mind the entire time I was pregnant. If fact before we began trying we thought I would work about three days per week. The excitement faded for a few moments and then the crying began! I only cried a few minutes, and then I was excited for this opportunity again :) I knew I had to take the job so we could see Jordan. If I stayed at home then Laney and I would NEVER see Jordan, and that is not fair to any of us. He would have to work a ton of overtime. We also would be on such a tight budget that we would not be able to spend ANY money. In fact we could barely pay the bills, and that would only be if Jordan was able to get enough over time shift. We saved up a lot of money for when I worked part time, but not nearly enough to be a full time stay at home mom.
I found out I will be teaching fourth grade, and the two ladies I am teaching with seem to be wonderful! One of them has a 4 1/2 month old little guy. She has been on maternity leave since she had her little one, and she won't be returning to work until next fall either. I am so excited to share this experience with her, because it is going to be so hard leaving our babies. We plan on having close friends and family watch Laney. So if there is one day a week you can commit to that would be great! Jordan has a weird schedule so we only need a baby sitter 6-11 days a month. Not bad huh!
